We want to help you visualize where you are headed, why you want to attain these goals and how you are going to get there.

Let’s start with your goals. We know that goal setting is important but many still do not do it. Those that write down their goals are much more likely to attain them than those who do not. Those who write out a specific plan to attain their goals are the most likely to reach their goals.

What are your main three health and fitness goals?

Write them down.

Now can you make them more specific?

Example:

Goals

1) Lose belly fat – specific goal – fit into old jeans or look good in a bathing suit
2) Eat better – snack less at night, eat more veggies throughout the day
3) Feel better – have more energy when playing with kids or grandkids

Now, beside each write down why this goal is so important to you?

Why do you want to look good in a bathing suit? Maybe it’s to feel more confident about yourself, maybe it’s to feel strong or maybe to impress your friends.

Why do you need to snack less at night? Maybe late night snacking is causing you to gain weight and maybe you are snacking on poor food choices that are not helping you feel or look better.

Why do you want to have more energy to play with your kids or grandkids? You want to be able to be a positive role model and show them that being healthy and active is a positive thing.

Knowing your “why” is what will help you stay committed during the hard times when you may not want to workout or when you reach for that bag of chips at night.

Today write down your goals, make then specific and find out your “why”. You don’t just want to be fit and healthy for no reason. Trust me, there is a reason behind why you want to do this or you would not be doing it. Tomorrow we will set a timeline for your goals.
