What’s holding you back? It will come down to one of these three reasons that you have not started or are not sticking to your plan.

1) No goals/ no ‘why” – You simply have not set goals. You need a target to aim towards. Yes, goal setting is important but that still will not keep you going. Ask yourself why? Why do you want to lose weight? Why do you want to get stronger? Find your “why” or the deep reason why you are actually doing this. You don’t want to lose 15 lbs because you want to see a lower number on the scale. You want to lose the weight so you feel better, you want to feel more confident in your clothes and you want to increase your energy.

2) You have set your goals, but you have no plan. You are not taking action. You need to put a strategic plan in place and follow it step by step to get closer to your goals.

3) No results. Maybe you don’t stick to your plan because you are not seeing results. We all want results and it is shattering when you hop on the scale and the weight hasn’t moved. Go back to your “why”. Think of what else has changed? Have you started a consistent habit of working out? Are you feeling better? Do you have more energy? Are your clothes fitting better? These are all positive changes to recognize. Now what can you do better to get even closer to your goal?

You may think there is something else holding you back such as time, age or any other reasons. If you don’t have time to fit in exercise it most likely will come back to goal setting and knowing your “why”. If you want it enough you will make time for it. It just may not be a priority at the moment.

If you think you are too old, you most likely have no plan in place. Age is not a factor. Yes, your routine will look a lot different than a twenty year old but you can still move! This is your coaches job to tailor your plan for you!

If you find you have been stuck, which of the above is holding you back the most? Now take action on it. If you don’t have goals then set them, write them down and find that deep reason it is important to you.

If you have no plan, make one. If you don’t know how to make one then hire someone to help you or do it for you. Then take action and stick to the plan.
